Funeral Expense for my mom, Arlene Beltran Olguin

I am writing this in disbelief. My mother, Arlene Beltran Olguin unexpectedly passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2022.

My mother suffered in silence as her condition became worse. She secretly sought out medical attention without raising suspicions from her friends and family. It wasn't until her condition became severe to be hospitalized that we were informed that she had a very rare disease called Lou Gehrig's disease also known as ALS. After having to bury her son (my brother) less than 2 years ago, she was never the same. The diagnosis came too late for us to mitigate her condition and add years back to her life. We were not prepared to lose her so soon and now we are left picking up the pieces.

My mom was a strong and proud woman. Never relenting on what is right and true. She believed the best in others even at their worst. She always sought to fulfill the needs of her children forgoing her own. It's an overwhelming sadness that fills me up knowing we will never get to see her and talk to her again.

It hasn't been easy having to put together my mother's last goodbye shortly after saying goodbye to our oldest brother. So far we have been able to finalize dates and times for the funeral. And we would love to have all our friends and family attend.

The funeral service will be held at Guerra-Cunningham-Bagues, on August 13, 2022, from 10 AM - 1 PM and the burial will be at Rose Hills Memorial @ 2 PM

We are absolutely devastated by our moms passing and are struggling to find the funds to cover the cost of the service. Based on what we have gathered we estimate that the cost will be roughly 20,000 dollars.

We will need to pay all funeral costs by August 10th and plan to have the rest in a payment plan. I’ve started this fundraiser to collect donations for her last goodbye.

Estoy escribiendo esto con incredulidad. Mi madre, Arlene Beltran Olguin falleció inesperadamente el domingo 17 de julio de 2022.

Mi madre sufrió en silencio mientras su condición empeoraba. Ella buscó atención médica en secreto sin levantar sospechas de sus amigos y familiares. No fue hasta que su condición se volvió grave para ser hospitalizada que nos informaron que tenía una enfermedad muy rara llamada enfermedad de Lou Gehrig, también conocida como ELA. Después de tener que enterrar a su hijo (mi hermano) hace menos de 2 años, nunca volvió a ser la misma. El diagnóstico llegó demasiado tarde para que pudiéramos mitigar su condición y agregarle años a su vida. No estábamos preparados para perderla tan pronto y ahora nos quedamos recogiendo los pedazos.

Mi mamá era una mujer fuerte y orgullosa. Nunca ceder en lo que es correcto y verdadero. Ella creía lo mejor en los demás, incluso en lo peor. Ella siempre buscó satisfacer las necesidades de sus hijos renunciando a las suyas propias. Es una tristeza abrumadora que me llena saber que nunca volveremos a verla y hablar con ella.

No ha sido fácil tener que armar el último adiós de mi madre poco después de despedirnos de nuestro hermano mayor. Hasta el momento hemos podido concretar fechas y horarios para el funeral. Y nos encantaría que asistieran todos nuestros amigos y familiares.

El funeral se llevará a cabo en Guerra-Cunningham-Bagues, el 13 de agosto de 2022, de 10:00 a. m. a 1:00 p. m. y el entierro será en Rose Hills Memorial a las 2:00 p. m.

Estamos absolutamente devastados por el fallecimiento de nuestras madres y estamos luchando por encontrar los fondos para cubrir el costo del servicio. Según lo que hemos recopilado, estimamos que el costo será de aproximadamente 20,000 dólares.

Tendremos que pagar todos los costos del funeral antes del 10 de agosto y planear tener el resto en un plan de pago. Comencé esta recaudación de fondos para recolectar donaciones para su último adiós.
