Funeral Expense for my dad Lee Canter

Donation protected
On Febuary 14, 2019 @ 10:44pm  Lee Canter took his final breath.  He was diagnosed in June 16,2018 with bladder cancer stage 2. In following months he under went chemo and radiation to try and beat cancer. He continued to work as long as he could till he took a couple months off. Then he decided he was able to go back to after even though the dr told him not to.  His body was just to weak to try and keep fight and he was hospitalized multiple times. On February 2 2019 while Casey was at work got a phone call from dad begging and crying for me to come get him from work and get him to St. John’s Hospital in Springfield . After getting him and taking him to St. Francis Hospital he was transferred to St. John the Springfield due to his potassium being at seven.  He under went emergency dialysis that night to save his life. In the days to come we were told that his kidneys have completely shut down and that the only options he had was to get tubes put in his back to drain the urine or he could go home on hospice care he chose to come home on hospice care,  On February 6 I brought him home on hospice.  And I became his primary care giver I had to call off work due to him being in such poor health and  we were uncertain of the time he had left .  He struggled with pain and discomfort up until his final days when we were able to get him comfortable with enough meds and and his final day he got to see his grandkids and give them their Valentine’s Day gift and share some laughs and see his children and grandchildren  altogether for the last time .  Later that night as me and him sit watching a movie,  I had walked out of the room and came right back in after grabbing a drink and he had taken his final breath at 10:44pm febuary 14, 2019 he left his earthly body and went to heaven to join our mother in heaven.

After I have met with the funeral home the day after he passed away on February 15 we were given two options we could go with a traditional funeral service that was going to be $8000 or we could go with a public aid service which is a  graveside service only and it would be $2200. As we all sat and looked at each other and knew we cannot afford the $8000 to give my dad a funeral service he deserved. we had to go with the public aid graveside service only but then we still were not able to come up with the $2200. After trying to reach out to family we were still not able to come up with it right away we .
The funeral service agreed to allow us to pay $1100  by Wednesday and they could do his funeral on Thursday but within the next 60 days we would have to come up with the rest of the money .

I am asking any small amount even if it’s only $10 that you could help us get my dad at least a small funeral that he deserves .

Thank you from the very bottom of my heart and my siblings and his grandkids .
