Funeral Expense ❤ Delilah Olivares

Donation protected

When Jerry and Patty Olivares recieved the news, back in December of 2015, that their daughter was diagnosed with a Gioblastoma Tumor in her brain, their whole world took an entirely different direction. They were told that it was inoperable; this is not the news they were expecting. Delilah spent most of her time sleeping and vomiting between visits to the doctor once a week for 2 months and were told it was simply a stomach virus finally, she was taken to a different doctor and was told to go to Texas Children's State Hospital ER where they ran a biopsy that later the revealed the cancerous tumor. The given survival rate was 2 months with no treatment, 18 months or possibly less with treatment.
Their journey began immediately with the hopes of a miracle. Delilah started treatment in MD Anderson receiving radiation traveling to Houston from Diboll every day for six and a half weeks. After radiation she went to Texas children's State Hospital once a week for a blood transfusion and an MRI every two months. From June to November her tumor shrunk and she was doing somewhat better. In November of 2016 she started radiation again every day for four weeks which kept the tumor more stable she was also taken to California where they were told of a treatment which was a chemo pill that offered very little help. On Christmas she took a turn for the worse and was admitted to the hospital once again. In March she was admitted to hospice and her battle with cancer ended on Sunday May eighth at the age of 10.
Now that Delilah is gone all her family has are precious memories of her that they would like to share. Delilah loved spending time with family, one of the things she enjoyed the most was couponing and she would always pester her mom about taking her shopping at Target. She also loved going out to eat; her favorite restaurant was Casa Morales. Throughout it all the most memorable event will always be when the Make-A-Wish Foundation made it possible for the entire family to go to Walt Disney World in Florida.
In this time of need, the only thing that can truly help beside prayers is donations to relive the financial burdens caused by the mother not working in order to care for Delilah full time, while the father was unable to attend work most of the time in order to stay by his daughters side throughout her numerous stays at Texas Children's State Hospital.
Any help would be greatly appreciated by the Olivares/Flores family.
