Since childhood it’s been my mom, my younger brother, and myself. Moving as immigrants from the Philippines my mom pursued a better life for my younger brother and I. My family and I became U.S. Citizens and California Residents looking for a better future. This has been my little family whom I’ve worked relentlessly and persistently hard for! At the age of 18 due to life circumstances I became a man swiftly; as my mom’s mental and physical state gradually declined due to suffering from Dementia. As my younger brother picked up the slack around the house and looking after our mom while I was off working a full time job and being a full time student. Then it came to be a very difficult decision when we had to admit mom into an assisted living nursing facility. My brother and I were determined to continue to be optimistic about mom’s health, going to her bedside every week singing her favorite song “All My Loving“ from The Beatles. On 9/11/19 I got the heartbreaking and disturbing phone call that my mom has passed away. While I’m still trying to catch a grip on myself, my brother and I are faced with paying for the funeral cost. We’re asking if you will be inclined to help us in anyway you can, we’re beyond grateful for your thoughts, prayers, and assistance during this challenging time. Also 10% of what we raise will be donated to a Alzheimer’s and Dementia Foundation.
