Funeral Costs for Lucia and Fundraiser for Sons

My name is Noelia, and on December 26th, the day we should have celebrated my big sister's 40th birthday, we found out she was no longer with us.

Lucia was a single mother to two sons, Antonio and Diego. She was a spirited woman who loved animals, cooking, and art. Originally from Chicago, she was the only person I knew that LOVED the strong, cold winter winds of our city. She enjoyed the snow, and the holiday season was her favorite time of year. And not because her birthday was coincidentally a day after Christmas, but because she was a giving person. My sister would get a twinkle in her eyes whenever she found the perfect gift for someone, even if it was something small.

Lucia passed away in an untimely manner while visiting Houston, TX. She is now a thousand miles away from home and we are working on making arrangements to get her back to Chicago. Unfortunately, it is a larger financial undertaking that we were not prepared for, especially so early in her life.

The money raised on this platform is to help my parents with the cost of travel and funeral arrangements. I would also like to raise money for my nephews, as they have been left without the emotional and financial support of their mother.

Lucia era madre soltera de dos hijos, Antonio y Diego. Era una mujer enérgica que amaba a los animales, la cocina y el arte. Originaria de Chicago, ella era la única persona que conocía que AMABA los fuertes y fríos vientos invernales de nuestra ciudad. Disfrutaba de la nieve y la temporada navideña era su época favorita del año. Y no porque su cumpleaños coincidiera con un día después de Navidad, sino porque era una persona generosa. A mi hermana le brillaban los ojos cada vez que encontraba el regalo perfecto para alguien, aunque fuera algo pequeño.

Lucia falleció de manera prematura mientras visitaba Houston, TX. Ahora está a miles de millas de su hogar y estamos trabajando para hacer arreglos para llevarla de regreso a Chicago. Desafortunadamente, es una empresa financiera más grande para la que no estábamos preparados, especialmente tan temprano en su vida.
