On March 19, 2024 we had our little Scotlyn Mae 4 weeks early.

To our surprise, she was born with some breathing complications. They put her on a ventilator and quickly took her to the NICU for further observation.

After an X-ray, we learned she had air around her lungs due to some leaks. She had to be transferred to a different hospital that had a higher level NICU.

When she was a week old, she was showing signs that something else was wrong. After further tests, she was diagnosed with Polycystic Kidney Disease and had to be transferred once again to Phoenix Children’s Hospital so she could be put on dialysis.

While there, she was on, off and back on a ventilator to help keep her lungs open. To make her situation worse, she later contracted a staph infection in her blood.

Her body continued to fight for as long as she could.

On Friday, April 5 she peacefully passed away in my arms. She joins her big brother, Conway, who passed away almost 5 years ago to Multicystic Kidney Disease.
