Funeral costs for my grandfather, Prophet

Hey friends, as many of you close to me know my grandfather passed away this Fathers Day in Jamaica and it shocked my whole family. He was only 74 and had so much life left to live, and all he wanted was for us, his family, to be together again. He was deported 50 years ago on false marijuana charges, but still somehow had the biggest impact on our whole family. He was the most loving, kind man and is without a doubt the reason my family knows and whole heartedly believes that Black is power. He made it possible for us to stand firmly and gracefully in or Blackness and to never waiver in who we are. With his guidance passed on to his daughter, my mother, we are a strong Rasta family.

So I’m asking if folks are able to donate and help cover the cost of the funeral as well as the costs to bring my family to Jamaica. Because of the pandemic the flights to our homeland are so expensive, and to not be able to lay my grandfather to rest because we can’t afford it is something that truly breaks my heart. I want my mom to be able to have the time she should of had in his final moments, and the time that was stolen from her for over 50 years. My grandfather was a beacon of light and hope for so many people in our community and I want the opportunity to shine that light on to him. My mother so graciously has held the funeral off until after the Olympics because she wants all her children to be there to say goodbye, so I am flying straight from Tokyo to Jamaica to burry my grandpa...it would mean so much to my family and I if the financial side of death was one less thing to worry about.
