Funeral Costs for Lee Emerson Giles
Donation protected
On Tuesday, July 30th, my father, Lee Emerson Giles, passed away suddenly in his residence. He left behind his two children (pictured), his father, his brothers and sisters, and those that came to know and care about him.
To those that knew him, he was kind with his willingness to help out in the ways that he could and witty with his one-liners and jokes. He also sang his heart out to old country music like those made by George Strait and Tim McGraw, and he was always down to play a video game or go to the river. Most importantly, he loved his kids, Hannah and Hunter, and took care of his disabled father.
However, not only are we as his family devastated by his loss, we are burdened with funeral costs. My father did not have any life insurance or even a will or assets to go towards his funeral. In addition, we are not a very well-off family with some of us having been stricken by poverty and can barely afford to get by day-to-day much less give anything for a funeral.
Regardless, after meeting with the funeral home, we are looking at about $10,000 total for his funeral ($5,075 for his casket, vault, and graveside services; ~$5,000 for the funeral home services). However, the $5,075 for his casket, vault, and graveside services needs to be paid before his tentatively planned visitation on the night of August 5th and his funeral August 6th mid-afternoon. One family member has offered to cover his casket leaving approximately $2,000 remaining.
Please, from everyone within my family, we ask for anything you can do. Every little bit helps, including just a few dollars or even just sharing this gofundme to anyone else. Please help us put my father to rest and to put my family at ease.
Below is a link to my father's obituary, which is on the website of the funeral home we are using the services of if you would to donate to them directly.
