In late March my grandmother started showing Covid-19 symptoms and as the days went by they kept progressing. On her birthday, April 8th , she took a turn for the worse, developing breathing problems and a fever of 104 so she was hospitalized. After a week of fighting the virus, she was intubated and put on a ventilator. She fought hard for the next 3 weeks but her condition worsened and eventually her organs started failing. On May 1st, god called her home and her pain ended, now resting in peace and watching over her family and friends whom she loved so much.
Gloria Gutierrez was born on April 8th 1955 in a pueblo in Mexico; Rio blanco, Veracruz. She met her soulmate, Roman Gutierrez, at a young age and they shared 52 years of happiness and love. Together they immigrated to the United States, obtained citizenship, created a large family, and achieved the American dream. My grandmother was a very loving woman who welcomed any guests and friends of the family with open arms. She was known for many things, such as her great cooking, her taste of music, and her lively attitude. She was especially known for her tamales and her love for Paquita La Del Barrio. Her aura was warm and friendly, making an enormous amount of friends throughout the years, who love and cherish the memories they experienced with her. For Gloria, family always came first and took care of everyone as if they were her own sons and daughters. She lived a very happy and fulfilling life and because of everything she did for us and her friends, we want to honor her in the best way we can under the current circumstances.
The purpose of this GoFundMe is to cover the costs for her funeral and any other related medical costs. The Gutierrez family is reaching out to anybody who would love to support us in giving her the passing she deserves. This isn't a goodbye because she is forever in our hearts and her spirit is watching and taking care of all of us, just like she normally would have. I also pray that everyone stays safe and healthy. Stay home and save lives if you can. Watch over your elderly family but do not put them at risk if you go out.
