Funeral Costs for Elesban "Munchies" Santibañez

Donation protected
Our hearts are heavy to share that our relative, Elesban "Munchies" Santibañez transitioned on June 3rd, 2022. Munchies was a joyful spirit who suffered from Schizophrenia and addiction, despite having the support and love of his familia. Our hearts are with Grandma Checha, Luissana, Made, Cheko, Paul, Yaya, Erendira, Aubrey and Alari. We know his family will always cherish his liveliness and pure heart. He always had a huge smile and story to share in the company of loved ones, and this was a deep contrast to the violence he encountered on the streets yet he always found a way to make people laugh and smile if they were willing to see beyond his conditions and embrace his humanity. It's hard to understand why the streets were more comforting to him than all the care that was accessible to him, but sometimes the grasp of the streets is stronger than any force anyone who hasn't been there can understand.
Munchies was a one-of-a-kind, multidimensional being that struggled to find his place on this earth and we are so saddened to know the streets took him away too soon and that authorities took over a week to notify the family. It's been devastating; death always is, even more so when it's unexpected.
Our hermanas, Luissana & Made Santibañez are such gems in the community and go above and beyond in everything they do to support families & youth in need. Even with the care they provided for him alongside their Mama Checha and siblings, Cheko and Paul, the streets took their beloved too soon. Please consider supporting our relatives during this most difficult time so that the heaviness of this sudden loss can give them the time they need to grieve and that our brother Munchies can have a dignified farewell. Thank you in advance for being in solidarity with our Santibañez realtives and those who loved Munchies.
