This is extremely hard to write.

I'm Isaiah and I'm the eldest son of Dolores. Many of you already know this but after a 3+ month-long fight, my mom recently passed away due to COVID-19. As a family, we are extremely saddened by the loss of someone who brought so much love, light, and kindness to the world.

If you knew my mom, you most likely were positively impacted by her in some way. She was a person who could befriend anyone and always showed genuine care to those around her. As I grew up, my mom would take the bus every morning with my brother and me to ensure we got to school safely, help out the teachers in my classrooms, help at school events, and help out with ministries and events at church -- all while still working full-time and taking care of her family. And in more recent years, I've both experienced and have heard from others how she would form meaningful friendships with people from all walks of life, support others dealing with loss or hard times, watch kids for parents who didn't have other means of child support, get little trinkets for others just because she was walking in a store and it reminded her of them, and even make masks to donate to hospitals when the pandemic started. My mom didn't have much to give, but she was always willing to give what she had to help others.

Dolores was amazing in all ways: as a daughter, sister, mother, wife, cousin, friend, co-worker, baker, artist, crafter...the list goes on. She will be missed by many, but she lives on in everyone that she's touched.
