Funeral Costs for Darla Hurd

Donation protected
On May 30, 2017 at around 10pm, the world suddenly, and unexpectedly,  lost an Angel on Earth. Darla Dee Hurd passed away in her home in Olympia, WA surrounded by her family. My mother had had many medical set backs, 3 weeks prior she had her second back operation to make corrections to the first. She had had set backs with this surgery but had seemed to be doing better. My younger sister that lived with her, Emily and Step Father, Melvin had been taking constant care of her. She was nearly never alone at home, someone was always there. Emily had gone to take a quick shower before continuing to watch a show that they had been excited about when she passed. She found her and tried her best to resusitate her along with my stepfather, until paramedics arrived. Desipte their best efforts, they were unable to revive her. They said that she went peacefully and with no pain, feeling that based on her symptoms just before (that she had an appointment for the very next morning) it may have been a blood clot to her heart. She had had one a few years prior and we had been told one more and it would be the last.... This has been a devistating lose to all of us. She had been doing so much better and was sounding more like herself again. She was making plans for the Summer with her grandson. She had been so excited to be able to walk again without the aid of her walker. She had so many plans for life. My wedding is in August and she was eagerly helping me with preperations, constantly and excitedly refering to herself as the Mother of The Bride. Emily and her were thick as theives and were rarely seen without the other. She was a bright and animated person. She would give you the shirt off her back even if you slapped her in the face with it. Even with her own dibilitating medical disabilities, she still cared for and did everything she could for everyone. Taking my grandmother to appointments and helping her around the house as much as she could, going to her Grandsons soccer games, being a shoulder to cry on for anyone that needed it. She was so much to so many people...the world is going to be a darker place without her in it....
The suddeness of her passing had left us in a bind. We had to be quick with the decisions. My grandmother paid for the Funeral Expenses but at great finacial cost to herself, as she is retired and disabled herself and on a fixed income, this money was all of her savings. Anything that anyone can donate will be greatly appreciated. Even just a dollar would mean so much to us. I wish so much that we could bring her back.
Funeral Services are being held at Funeral Alternatives in Lacey, WA Monday June 5th from 3pm to 5pm.
Thank you so much....
