Funeral & Celebration of Life for Cory Ortiz

Hi, my name is Jesse Ortiz. I am one of Cory’s 6 siblings and I am asking for any assistance whatsoever with my brother’s celebration of life in California and his funeral services in Colorado.

First and foremost, Cory passed approximately on Monday. June 26th, 2023. The time of death is still not concrete. He is said to have passed painlessly in his sleep due to unexpected heart failure, not a heart attack. He was born with an enlarged heart and a heart murmur, his heart overworked itself and stopped altogether. Forgive me if the details are not completely accurate but that is what we got from the autopsy report. We are deeply saddened and shocked by his passing as he was still so young, 25, and full of life. He’s now with our mother, Darlene Ortiz, and we have gained another loving angel.

Cory was one of the most loving and caring souls, he was hard headed but was always there for you when needed. He was the baby brother and what we called our brother bear.

We will be having official services in our hometown of Grand Junction, Colorado in mid July (Official Details will be updated later) and will need some assistance with travel and funeral expenses. We appreciate any help whatsoever. We will also be holding a small celebration of life for any friends or family within Southern California who would like to pay their respects.
