Funeral Arrangements for Melissa Hillman-Gordon

Donation protected

A lot  of you knew my mom, maybe known her as Myssi rather than Melissa. She was an amazing women, with a heart pure of gold. This was all so sudden. I wasn’t ready for this. She was my best friend, my birth giver. Weeks before we were going shopping, she was watching Kaiden, living her normal life with her fiancé. They were even planning to get married August of 2021. Unfortunately she doesn’t have any assets, life support or anything in preparation for this. Shes only 49  So not even I nor my family were even close to ready for this. Mentally, Emotionally, Physically or Financially. I’m making this go fund me because my mom was so loved she and touched so many souls over the years. Anything helps seriously. I’m only 22, I never wanted to plan her funeral, we were getting ready to plan her wedding this summer.

In the month on June 2021 my mom was feeling sick, she left work early one day & didn’t return for almost 2 weeks, she kept saying she was constipated, which was a ongoing issue with her bowel movements, to the extent of her not leaving the couch for days, sleeping on all day everyday. On the night of June 16th my step dad called pleading me to come the next morning and convince Mom to seek some medical attention for some answers. When i arrived the next morning Mom was delusional, she had no clue who i was, who she was, where she was, what year it was, etc. I called 911 immediately and rushed to the hospital with her, where they only allowed 1 outsider in. I couldn’t even have my stepdad, her fiancé by my side. Doctors ran a Ctscan and MRI & when the results came in the DR had me sit down & he went over everything he seen on the results. 3 very large massive brain tumors in her brain, multiple lesions on her lungs. Diagnosing her with Stage 4 Metastatic Lung Cancer.  Which had also spread to her bloodstream and her bones. They informed me the tumors in the brain are non operable, and non removable.

Due to her being delusional I had signed Power of Attorney papers making all the decisions for her. But I still made sure to include her in every single decision. Knowing how she is, i know she was going to deny Chemotherapy & Radiation. I asked, i begged, I pleaded. Her answer was still no, and I knew that. I had to respect her wishes. I even asked the Drs, if this was your mom, what would you do? He informed me with how late they caught the cancer & how quickly it’s spread, the treatment could make her sicker, weaker and in pain more than she already is. After 2 weeks in Lee Memorial Hospital, she was transferred to a hospice house for her evaluations. Where the told me roughly 3 months left. During these 3 months, she became non verbal & non responsive. She would just look and stare. No words. Sometimes she was able to shake her head to answer but cancer starting eating her alive. But she was never in any pain, that anyone could recognize. She was just there. But she really wasn’t.

I love you Mom, Forever & Always. Always & Forever. You’ll always be with me, in my heart. Please watch over Kaiden, he misses his Nana so much
