Funeral Arrangements for Evelyn Hearn

Evelyn Mae Hearn, 55, of Danville, Va., passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2020 while a patient at SOVAH Health, Danville. She was born July 21, 1964 to Evelyn Mae Steele Funk and the late Roy Charles Funk. She was married to Carl Arnold Hearn, who survives, of the residence.

Mrs. Hearn was a member of The River Church where she was a Sunday School teacher and was always actively involved with the youth. She worked as a receptionist for Avante in Reidsville, NC for many years. She will be remembered for her love of God and of her family.

In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by two daughters, Stephanie Brown and her husband, Scott of Reidsville, NC and Monica Terry and her husband, Ellis of Wentworth, NC; two sons, Gregory Hearn and his wife, Lauren of Jacksonville, NC and Jeffrey Hearn and his wife, Nina of Ruffin, NC; two sisters, Tammy Courtney of Huntington, MD and Tracie Woodard and husband, Jermaine of Stoneville, NC, as well as a brother, Butch Funk, also of Huntington, MD. In addition, Mrs. Hearn is survived by eight grandchildren, Carla, Piper, Benjamin, Everleigh, Lucy, Addison, Phoenix, and Malakai, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

The family is aware that many friends and family would like to attend the graveside service for Mrs. Hearn, but in adherence with government guidelines in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, a private service will be held to honor her life. Anyone wishing to visit with the family is asked to please call ahead of time to plan any visits to the home.

The life of Evelyn Hearn can be summarized by Proverbs 31:30, “Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.”
