Funeral Arrangements for Babarinde(Babs) Awokere

It is with a heavy heart that, I am announcing the death of Babarinde Awokere, 46 of Silverspring MD.  He passed away 1/19/2021 at his home with a blood clot to the lungs, stemming from an attempted robbery a few weeks before that horrible day.                          

This incident happened in PG County, Maryland.   Unfortunately, he was a victim to a carjacking.  The criminal came out of nowhere and attempted to take his car, before Babarinde drives off the criminal fired shots into his car hitting him.  He sustained major injuries, but after being in the hospital for several weeks, he was finally able to be discharged and sent home for a speedy recovery.  He, unfortunately, suffered a blood clot in the lungs as a result of his injuries.

We are devasted, to say the least, and beyond broken.  He was the only son of our parents and we didn't see his death coming. 

Babs (Babarinde) was the life of our family. Such a kind soul!  He would give the shirt off his back and he would go to any length to help anyone in need.  That is why it's hard to understand that an innocent person like Babs can just be criminally attacked and pushed to his death. 

He was born in Baltimore MD, son of Nigerian parents Mr & Mrs. A. Awokere. He is survived by 2 sisters and his mother.
