FUNERAL APPEAL FOR MUDUWA HARRIET MELLAN (1980-2024)

Dear Everyone,

I am reaching out with a heavy heart to share the story of our dear friend Muduwa Harriet Mellan who tragically passed away from Heart attack on the 23rd of August 2024 while at work. Harriet arrived in the UK in May 2024 from Uganda to join her British husband Stephen in Devonshire. Their wedding took place in Uganda and they hoped to live happily together in the UK. Her husband suffered a stroke and this incapacitated him hence he hasn't been able to work and has been surviving on Social support. Harriet played a great role looking after her husband and in order to make ends meet, she applied for a job. On her very first day at work, she got a heart attack and was rushed to hospital where she passed on the 23rd of August 2024. Harriet did not have any family in the UK instead was in touch with a few Ugandan friends she knew. The husband does not have any funds to cover for funeral expenses. She left behind three children in Uganda.

We are appealing to you, to please contribute whatever amount you can, to help us repatriate Harriets body back to Uganda for burial. At the moment Harriet's body is in hospital and as soon it is released, she will be kept in a funeral home in the UK as we raise the needed funds. The funeral home has offered to keep Harriet's body for free until our target is reached. The total cost is between 6000 and 7000 pounds.
