David Carlton Arthur Huff was born May 14th, 1961 in Oakland, CA. He passed away on 12/17/2023 at the age of 62 in Santa Cruz, CA. He is survived by his children, Caolán Hyland and Connor Huff. He was a devout Lutheran in the tradition of his family, and held fast in his belief all his life. As a teenager he became a butcher after his father, Irvine. He remained dedicated to this profession until shortly before his passing. He worked in the meat departments of legendary Bay Area shops such as William’s Brothers, Andronico’s, Living Foods, and many more. He took pride in training others in the profession, especially late in his career, when he could leverage his connections and training investments in your meat cutters into better paying union jobs. He loved backpacking, going to the beach, ice cream, Jazz, Rock and Roll, and fishing. Most of all he loved sharing these with his children. He remembered the days he lived with his father in Santa Cruz County as a teenager as some of the best of his life, and it would have brought him comfort that he passed there. He was laid to rest at Roselawn Cemetary in Livermore California on December 27th, 2023. We, his family, are raising funds to cover the costs of end of life services.
