It is with a saddened heart that we announce the passing of now our third daughter, LaSonjia Rogers at age 49. We have now lost all three of our eldest children. Sonya had been suffering from an illness. The good lord came to bring her home 4/27/23. Sonjia was a loving Daughter, Sister, Mother, Aunty, and Friend to many. She was a single mother who leaves behind 3 children her youngest being 12. Sonjia had a sister who was 11 months her senior, Shawna. When Sonjia lost Shawna 8 days after she had given birth, Sonjia adopted her sister’s infant son, her nephew, and raised him as her own. Sonjia was a people person always willing to help others. She loved watching the food network and the news channel. She was a great cook. She cherished spending time with family and friends. She worked in the medical field before retiring. Sonjia was the life of the party and could always lift a room. Her laughter and smile was contagious. Sonjia grew up in a Christian home. She drew closer to Lord and accepted him into her life in her last days in the hospital. We love Sonjia dearly and will miss her dearly. Unfortunately, Sonjia did not have life insurance so we are asking anyone whose heart was touched by this or Sonjia to please donate towards her funeral expenses. We want to lay our girl to rest peacefully. Anything helps, nothing is expected and everything is appreciated. God bless everyone out there reading this.
