Funeral and Memorial expenses for George Curte

Our friend George Curte, after a yearlong battle with cancer, left this world on Thursday, November 3, 2022. He was determined to fight to the end, to find a Doctor willing to take a chance on his advanced form of cancer.

George trained to survive under extreme conditions. When the weather forecast called for cold temperatures, ice and snow, George would pack his tent and spend the weekend on the mountain. He was an avid hunter and took pride in surviving without modern comforts.

George was an amateur ham radio operator. He would test his morse code skills while camping out in lousy weather. He had a long list of mutual-aid acquaintances from all over the world.

George loved tango. He would never miss a local milonga except during hunting season, and he liked to dance every tanda. George loved life and loved his freedom.

This fundraiser is being organized by Mirela Roxana, Alina Monica Antoci and Andy Stein. We will send the funds to George's brother, Marian Curte, in Braila, Romania, to cover funeral and memorial expenses.
