Funeral and Memorial Costs For Gary Sturgess 'Gaz'

Donation protected
On the evening of January 17th, we all got that dreaded gut wrenching call late at night that my father in law Gary Peter Sturgess, Gaz, age 59,  fell into the River Thames. It was one of the coldest nights of the year and with raging currents, our family was in disbelief that this had happened.

After three weeks of everyone hoping he would be found and with the help of the Surrey police Department, the Surrey Search and Rescue Team, Volunteers of the community, boaters, dog walkers, just everyone pulling out every resource they could, we unfortunately got the news that his body had been found on Friday 7th February.

We are just beyond shocked that he passed so tragically, as he had beaten a serious life threatening liver disease over 10 years ago that he was told he wouldn’t live past 6 months, which had left him medically disabled. So this has been such an unexpected passing as he was such a survivor.

Nobody is ready for what the next stage is emotionally, nor financially, and all I want to do, and I’m sure all of his friends and family want also, is for Gaz's family to focus on being strong and focus on these next steps ahead not having to worry about any expenses that come with this tough time.

Gaz was an avid lover of life, his friends and his family. A compassionate friend to animals, believer in all, he loved the earth. Gaz took the time to know ones story, and told many of his own stories, a true warrior, he worshiped the ground of everyone he met, and forgave at times when no else would have. A true Gentleman. But hilarious too! He was so much fun to be around, always making and creating his own inventions.

He was also very loved on social media too, Gaz was aka George Timothy Fotesque and Gery Smith. No one could ever visit him without being shown a youtube video about conspiracy's theories, palestine, animals, veganism, boats, cars, life hacks or what's going on around the world.
Gaz never met a person he wasn’t willing to help, a sleeve he wasn’t willing to roll up, and a mile he wasn’t willing to walk for someone. He has been there for so many of us when our own lives have fallen apart.

So Ive set this go-fund me page up with the permission of his loved ones, for all of his friends that ever shared a friendship, a beer, a deep conversation with Gaz, to take two seconds and think about the good times and donate whatever you can to take away the burden of this financial stress from his family.

Thank you all so much for all the Love and support in advance to everybody. Everything that is donated will go directly to his family to help pay for Gaz's funeral and memorial costs. If you can not donate, please share this page and share our families story.

We all miss him so much already and i just hope we can give him the funeral and memorial he is so well deserved. ❤️
