Survived by his Wife Debra Sams, four Daughters Ashley Moulton, Sarah Sams, Lea Sams, Karlie Ulrich, Son-in-law Michael VanRossum, Grandson James Ulrich VanRossum, Sister Alice Allen, and Brother Jim Ulrich,

 

My name is Karlie Ulrich.

 

On December 6th my significant other took my father Karl Ulrich, to the hospital due to pneumonia caused by Covid. My father was on life support later that day. He continued fighting for 15 days. He had already experienced infection and poor circulation in his feet prior to Covid. Being my father was on life support and in bed for the last two week it caused his feet to become gangrenous. The gangrene caused his body to go into septic shock forcing his kidneys to shut down. We were giving the option to bring him home and keep him alive is a vegetated state, or make him as comfortable as possible while he passed on.

Nothing could have ever prepared me for losing my father. He was my number one supporter and my number one pain in my ass, but nothing could ever take away the love I have for that man. He did anything and everything for my mother and I. I would never imagine I could lose him so close after having my first child, but my heart is filled knowing how much grandpa loved his baby boy.

I'm begging for help. Anything will help my mother and I as we push through the most trying time of our life..
