As many of you already know, our friend Rufino Lopez, at 51 years old, passed away earlier this month due to COVID-19 related complications. Rufino leaves behind his wife, Silvia Lopez, his 7 children, and 16 grandchildren.
Rufino and Silvia’s son, Alex Lopez, also contracted the virus and was placed in an induced coma. He is currently unable to move or talk and doctors believe it will take him over a year to fully recover.
Rufino worked at Thornton Winery for over 27 years and was a dedicated, hardworking employee, who always had a smile on his face. Rufino loved and enjoyed working with his hands, and had a natural talent for repairing practically anything. He was always willing to go out of his way to lend a helping hand for others and will be deeply missed.
This fundraiser will go directly to the Lopez family to assist with medical bills and to help grant Rufino's last wish, which was to be buried in Mexico, next to his parents.
