Funeral and loss recovery support

Hello friends,

My son Eli Bodhi Remus died on December 12, 2021. It was very sudden. He died of necrotizing fasciitis and despite the best antibiotics on the planet and multiple surgeries he did not make it. It happened so quickly.

I am in deep grief and shock. This was entirely unexpected. Yet it was sacred. I helped Eli come into this world and I helped him leave this world. I was there for his first breath and his last heartbeat, and even though it is not something a parent wants to have to do, I can feel the Great Mystery in this.

I would like to take some time off work to process all that has happened. I do not have sick leave or paid vacation. I can’t imagine working right now. I also need to help pay for Eli’s cremation and all the other expenses that go along with someone’s death.

Thank you for reading this. I feel that all of life is sacred. And in the midst of my grief and shock I feel there is so much love in this world. I hold to that love always.
