Honoring Lowel Lewis

Donation protected
On Friday, October 22, our brother and friend, Lowel Lewis, went Home to be with the Lord. Our hope is to help ease the financial burden for Rose as she grieves the sudden loss of her beloved, Lowel. The funds will be used to off-set funeral expenses to honor Lowel and for time needed away from work.

Lowel truly lived his life for the Lord. Every word, every deed. He was one of a kind. He was never afraid to speak the truth, making people uncomfortable at times, to people he knew and people he didn’t really know, just like the prophets used to. He would call Christians to more…he would call Priests to task, and Protestant Pastors, as well. It was his calling, and he lived it. When he drove an Uber for a while in Detroit during the night shift, he often picked up prostitutes and drug addicts, and would share the gospel with them. He ministered to them, prayed with them. He loved them like Jesus. He always offered them hope…whether it was a connection to employment or housing resources, or people who could help them find a new path, a better life. He gave so many people his cell phone number. Many would reach out to him when they were at their lowest. He was a light to many living in a “dark” world. It’s what he did. It’s who he was.

“He fought the good fight, he finished the race, he kept the faith. Now there is in store for him the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the just judge, will award to him on that day …and not only to him, but to all who longed for His appearing.”
2 Timothy 4:7-8
