Funeral and ICU Support

My wonderful father passed away yesterday, August 19th, after incurring a broken neck from a fall. He had terrific surgeons that took care of broken neck and all was looking hopeful.  But, during his treatment and as he was improving, he was served steak by the hospital and choked on it. His heart stopped but they were able to revive him. He then had broken ribs to deal with. The piece of steak was accidentally shoved down into his lungs buy the breathing tube that was put it. It took many hours after to get the steak out. There was permanent damage done to his throat and he was going to be placed on a food tube for a long time, maybe the rest of his life. After all this that he endured, he ended up passing away dew to respiratory issues from aspiration.

I'm his son. I am absolutely torn up about this situation. My mother, who is in retirement age, works two days a week at Lowes and now will be facing thousands of dollars of medical bills and funeral costs. I normally am not the kind to ask for help and neither is she so if there is anything that can be given, thank you and God bless.
