Funeral and burial expenses for Jeffrey Rudd
Donation protected
Many hearts have broken today. Jeffrey Rudd, friend to many and the love of my life has passed away. Jeffrey only stood 5’, but was a giant in life. He was kind, loving, funny, loyal, intelligent, gentle, brave and so much more. I have been taking care of every single need Jeffrey had both personally and medically for the past 12 years. It was an honor. He’s been extremely sick the past few years battling lung cancer twice, diabetes, high blood pressure, heart attack and more recently liver failure. Jeffrey pursued his dream of becoming a jockey, taking advantage of his small stature. This little boy from Stony Point, NY had a dream and fulfilled it. It was a tough industry back in the 80s with much personal sacrifice. Along the way he met hundreds of people. He was very well respected and loved at the track.
12 years ago he left that life behind and re-joined me in NY where we continued our love for one another. He reconnected with his friends from Stony Point and made new friends no matter where his feet landed at the end of the day. When Jeffrey started becoming seriously Ill we discussed his wishes. He NEVER asked me to promise him anything in life except to love him always and forever, which was simple, and to NEVER cremate him, to please bury him. You see, one year in California, Jeffrey witnessed a horrific accident and a van caught fire. Jeffrey pulled the burning victims out of the van and rolled them down an embankment to safety. He saved 6 people that day, but it haunted him that he couldn’t save everyone in the van and some perished. The smell of flesh burning haunted him the rest of his life. It’s why he asked to be buried. I promised him I would not cremate him. I’m asking for help in fulfilling my promise. I can’t do it without the kindness of others.
If you knew him and loved him, I know you will help. No amount is too small.
If you did not know him, and just want to help a wonderful and kind man, then please do.
Thank you from the bottom of my broken heart.
