Hi, my name is Maggie and I'm raising funds for the funeral and burial expenses for my mother, Dee.
Last year, my mother was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of liver cancer, two days after losing one of my brothers to a massive brain bleed from an AVM. She had surgery to remove part of her liver, her bile ducts, and a number of lymph nodes. Most of the nodes came back with cancer present. She was told that, due to the aggressive nature of the cancer, there were no treatment options for her. We were told she had a couple of months left. That timeline, since, has been shortened to a few weeks.
My mother, and her husband have no savings and have been living on social security. He hasn't been able to work, due to caring for her. While the family has been trying to come up with the money for her to be buried with our family, and have a proper funeral, a few weeks isn't enough time. She really doesn't want to be cremated, but is afraid she'll have to be.
If we can, at the least, get the money to be able to cover her casket and burial, it would mean the world to her and the family. If we can exceed that, and have a modest funeral, everyone would be beyond grateful.
If, for some reason, we exceed that, any remainder would go towards any residual expenses from her illness.
I genuinely hate to ask, but I can't not try to give her her last wishes.
