"Help Colin Rebuild: Montreal Fire Relief

Hi, my name is Colin, if you don’t know me I am 22 years old and I am in need of some help. On may 31st 2024, my apartment on Saint Laurent street in Montreal was affected by an alarm 4 fire within my building, caused by the restaurant below me. (Article) While some of the details are still unknown at the time of writing this, what I do know is that it was a ventilation fire which is why so many walls are torn apart in the photos that I have linked as well as the video. Luckily no one was hurt, but my neighbours have lost one of their cats, as well as like me their home.

 I am crowdsourcing funds since all my belongings are not covered by any insurance policy. Because of that I am made this gofundme in hopes to recover the loss of many of my things,(clothes, books, appliances, kitchenware, household essentials, shoes, sentimental objects, art supplies as well as sewing supplies), so I can be able to afford a new place to move into as soon as possible and repair many of my electronic devices as some of my devices have been either broken and need to be replaced, or in dire need of repairs as they are missing some of their core functions. In the fire I lost many important things to me from art that cannot be remade to clothes that I have spent thousands of dollars on being covered in smoke and insulation stains, caked in drywall and plywood, water damaged and in some cases being beyond any chance of repair. While some of the funds will be going to fixing those things and trying to replace some things that, to be honest, are not replaceable, other parts of the funds will be to cover finding a place to stay longterm, I am very lucky to be able to stay with a friend, but I would like to feel a sense of stability again and find somewhere me and my roommate can once again call home. If you have any extra funds of any kind that you can donate, it would be extremely appreciated even sharing this page is a huge help.
