As many of you know my sister Hannah Havranek passed away on September 14, 2020. This was due to a long ongoing problem with addiction. Approximately at 9 p.m. on September 13, 2020 my father and I received a call thinking it was from my sister due to the call being over Facebook. It turns out it was not my sister it was her boyfriend to tell us that she had overdosed. She was placed at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Astoria Oregon then later transferred in life flighted to Vancouver Washington to the PeaceHealth SW. Medical Center. The overdose being so severe that it stopped her heart for 15 minutes and it cut off the oxygen flow to her brain. And she had to rely on a ventilator to breath. Which resulted in her to go brain dead. She was pronounced dead at 5:30 PM on September 14, 2020. My father being with her till the end.
But My sister wasn’t always like this. She was a very quick witted, smart, goofy, hard-working, career driven, most beautiful girl you would ever meet. She was top of her class in nursing school and graduated with honors. She had a very successful career with being a registered nursing assistant. Then a couple years ago she had a major operation that changed her life. She became addicted to painkillers which resulted her in going down the wrong path that wind up taking her life.
I loved my sister with all my heart and it’s devastating to our whole family that she has gone so soon at such a young age. But she has earned her wings and is in a better place now. Everybody that I know or have seen recently they all loved her and we all wished she knew how much we all loved her. It pains me to have to lose her this way. And I can now feel the pain of everybody that has lost anybody to addiction. Please if anybody in your family has an addiction try your best to keep them close. Because that was the one thing I regret is not keeping my sister close when she needed me the most.
So in conclusion the reason for this go fund me is to help my father and I set up a funeral to lay my sister to rest. Anything helps even if it’s a dollar even if it’s $.50 anything helps. Thank you for all the thoughts and prayers. We’re all going to need time to heal but healing takes time.
Thank you for taking the time to read and possibly donate.
In best regards,
The family of Hannah Havranek.
