This is Benji This morning he was hit by a car on Strawberry Roundabout. He is currently in theatre fighting for his life. His injuries are awful. His back right leg has to be amputated due to a severely broken thigh bone. He has a large skin tear across his tummy that requires extensive stitching, and he’s also undergoing emergency surgery for a diaphragmatic hernia caused by the impact. This means his abdominal organs have moved into his chest cavity, putting dangerous pressure on his lungs. It’s heartbreaking how something like this can happen so quickly. So many drivers see animals on the road and don’t slow down, don’t stop, as if it’s not worth it. Benji is the most loving, gentle soul and doesn’t deserve this. We are doing everything we can to give him a chance to survive and recover. Unfortunately, our insurance only covers up to £1,000, and his emergency treatment is expected to cost around £7,000. The costs are overwhelming, but he is so worth it. Any donation, no matter how small, will go directly towards Benji’s life saving treatment.
