Sometimes our guardian angels need us to be the wind beneath their wings – Now is one of those times.  Our lovely Barbara Liu’s sudden and tragic loss of her son Maverick McDowell has left her, her son Marvel McDowell, and her husband Ian McDowell facing the feat of taking time to grieve while balancing the challenging act of finding resources to properly celebrate Maverick’s life in the form a responsibly social-distanced memorial for family and friends. The family is in total shock, as we all would be.

Many of you will know Barbara from our LGBTQ+ community as a mother figure, often showing up at The Oasis with food and snacks for the performers to eat backstage while wearing the MOST incredible, if "hardly there", outfits!

The purpose of this GoFundMe is to offer an opportunity to friends of Barbara and her family to give love and support in the form of financial help to ease the cost of a proper sendoff to honor the beautiful life of Maverick who recently left us.  Maverick had just started his military career and was studying at Boot Camp in Oklahoma when the tragedy occurred. No contribution is too small as we make an effort to reach the set goal.
