My name is Sean Meek and for over twenty-five years I was the Executive Director of a Creation Ministry called Project CREATION. Its mission was to present information, Biblical, scientific and historical showing that the Bible is accurate in all that it says. The Bible tells us that God’s people can perish for lack of knowledge. People have abandoned the Faith because they believed evolutionist nonsense. Most of the present generation has abandoned a Biblical worldview because for most of their lives they have never heard of the abundant evidence for Biblical accuracy.
The most mocked story in Genesis is the flood story. The mockers of the Genesis Flood pretend there is no evidence of a worldwide flood, ignoring the billions of creatures buried in mud all over the world that became fossils.
This book, In the Shadow of the Ark, is not about the evidence of the Great Flood; there are many good books about that, it is about the world before the Flood. The Bible gives only a very brief description of that world. As I have thought about that world over the years the number one question for me has always been why did God send a flood to destroy the whole world instead of just eliminating the evil people that existed in the pre-flood world?
This book is written to present my beliefs about the pre-flood world and specifically why God destroyed it. This book is Biblical historical fiction. Biblical historical fiction seeks to amplify the Bible story without in distorting the Biblical account. For instance I give names to Noah’s wife and daughters-in-law which the Bible does not supply. The story is told from the perspective of an outsider to Noah. An outsider’s perspective does two things, it allows the reader to see Noah as he probably appeared to his contemporaries, secondly it allows a more thorough presentation of the pre-flood world than Noah would have experienced personally. It is also a love story between two characters, Kenan and Orani, and then between them and God.
Jesus said in Matthew 24:38-39 “For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and knew not until the flood came, and took them all away, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.”
I believe we are in the end time and that God called me to write this book because the world today is so much like Noah’s world was. I believe God wants this book published to warn His people as well as the rest of the world to not be complacent.
I hope you will find that this book presents some possible answers to questions you may have had regarding the world before the Great Flood as well as being an entertaining story.
