Hi there. My boyfriend has been detained by ICE. He had applied for asylum and was grabbed today in Vancouver, WA during his criminal trial. He was transported to the Portland facility and will be moved to Tacoma later today. He is an asylum seeker and was awaiting his asylum interview sometime this year with immigration court. He has immigration court in December 2026. They grabbed him unjustifiably . They grabbed him within 5 feet from the Juvenile Detention Center near the courthouses in downtown Vancouver and ICE is not even supposed to be within 1,000 feet of the campus as I’ve been informed. The lawyer I was able to contact is asking for $500 to be able to assist us. This is for a consolation with the lawyer. This lawyer will be able to go up to Tacoma to assist us in hopefully getting him out. I was told he was detained but this seems more like possible deportation. Anything helps. I need to be able to get up to Tacoma to help him as I've been told I would be able to talk to him and see him if I go up there tomorrow which is my plan if everything goes accordingly. I'm needing the funds for gas, money for him to be able to make calls and anything else that may pop up. Please help us. This is my person, the love of my life and this is unjustified. I do not want to imagine what could happen to him if he is deported or what could even happen to him in Tacoma with everything going on. I am terrified, devastated and am desperate. Please.
Update 1: We got the funding for the consult for the lawyer. I visited with him today and he spoke with the lawyer. He is doing as well as he can given the circumstances. We are anticipating legal fees to get high so we upped the amount of what we would need. Anything helps whether it be a share, a donation or comments! I have reached out to several Senators and Representatives in our state as well as news outlets. Spread his story like wild fire! Let's bring home my baby please! This is a life or death situation (there's a real good reason he's an asylum seeker; his literal life depends on this!)
Funds are being used for legal representation and related costs. Criminal and immigration matters are ongoing, and no convictions have occurred
