Funds needed for trafficking survivor

My name is Felicia and I facilitate the Tarrant County 5 Stones Taskforce (www.5StonesTaskforce.org). At times there is a specific need that arises and all other funding sources have been exhausted. This is the case with this particular survivor of sex trafficking. This person suffered severe complex trauma as a child and needs intensive inpatient therapy and counseling at a level that local options have not been able to provide to her. Receiving this therapy will hopefully be a life-changing and possibly life-saving event. The $39,000 is what is still needed to cover a 30-day program.

Due to confidentiality, we are not able to release further details of the situation. A couple of churches are still considering donations to this cause as well, but most likely will not cover the full cost. Any funds given to this Go Fund Me account will NOT be tax deductible, but any excess funds raised will support Freedom Shield Foundation, the advocacy agency organizing care for this survivor (www.freedomshieldfoundation.com).

Freedom Shield Foundation began opening safe houses in 2020, and already has three safe houses currently in operation. They have trained many amazing advocates who care for and pour into these survivors while they are in the program. They provide trauma-informed care and utilize many stabilization techniques. During their stay, the survivor is able to stabilize, re-center, begin healing, and be guided towards as well as prepare for long term care.
