Funds Needed for Tonya Cox’s Cremation
Donation protected
I, Savanah Contreras, have started this fund for my dear friend, Jazmyne Contreras, who recently lost her mother suddenly.
Tonya Cox was born in Santa Monica on 11/24/1974, suddenly passed in Bakersfield on 5/22/2024. Tonya was home when she collapsed and she died suddenly. Living with HIV wasn’t easy for Tonya, she went on dialysis about a year ago, and this last week, she went on 6 new meds. She was told 2 of them may create a bad reaction and currently, doctors are assuming that her medication became too toxic for her, which caused her passing.
Tonya Cox was never married, but she did have one child, Jazmyne Contreras. Jazmyne doesn’t live in the same county as her mother, so her mother’s passing has been draining both mentally and physically. Tonya had no savings, no will, and nothing set up for when she did pass. Any donation given will go straight to Jazmyne to assist her in paying for the following services needed:
- processing fee
- death certificate
- permit
- cremation
A note from Jazmyne:
“I didn’t live with my mom, but going to see her in Bakersfield was always the highlights of my year, every year growing up. I loved spending time with her, cooking with her, binging law and order and eating white chocolate together. As I got older, I became focused on schooling, she was working a lot so I saw her few and far in between jobs whenever she happened to be in town. I loved my mother very much and I sincerely wish I could’ve told her that just one more time or been there for her that day. I know she loved me “more than life” is how she always put it. She deserved so much more in this life but with her sickness, she did the absolute best she could. I’m proud of her fight and I know now her and my grandma are together again and they both look down smiling not in pain anymore and that’s truly all I could ask for her. To be with her angel, and now I’ve gained a second one.”
Thank you so much for your time and consideration in donating and helping out her grieving daughter. May Tonya Cox rest in peace.️
