Hey there friends and hopefully some new friends! In a world saturated with fundraisers, GoFundMe’s, Kickstarters, and Fundlys, I truly hate to ask for money, but I really need your help. This coming March, I will be undergoing surgery for a total hysterectomy. As scary as it is, I am very much looking forward to being healthy, happy, and pain-free. Thankfully, I am luckier than a lot of folks and I do have health insurance that will cover most of the cost of the surgery. Unfortunately, I am NOT lucky enough to have a savings account or a rainy day fund that can support me through my optimistic 6-week recovery. Like many, I am a single income earner and I work paycheck to paycheck. There is no way I will be able to pay my bills and continue to care for myself while I am out of work.
I’m hoping to raise enough money to make sure I don’t lose my apartment, I can keep the lights on, feed myself, and pay whatever miscellaneous expenses come up. If I can raise $5000, that will pretty much cover the paydays that I will be missing during my recovery. If I am unable to raise enough money to tide me over, I will likely cancel or reschedule the surgery until I am in a better financial state. One shouldn’t have to crowdfund in order to afford medical care, but here we are.
I thank you all for taking the time to read through this. If you aren’t able to donate, please share to your socials and among your friend groups. Maybe someone you know can help me out even if you aren’t able to directly. If GoFundMe isn’t your thing, I have Zelle, Venmo, PayPal, and CashApp as well. Love you and thank you!
