Hi my name is Clark Mckinney. I am the Camp Wabenaki President. I would like to take a minute of your time to tell you about this wonderful organization Camp Wabenki. The Camp resides in Southfield, NY. We are located in the beautiful scenic Harriman State Park. Camp Wabenaki has been in existence for over 50 years now. Camp Wabenaki was once run by Ralph and Rose Hittman Founders of Camp Wabenki.

The camps primary purpose is to serve the underprivileged youth of all ages, regardless of background, creed, color or religion. Lack of funding caused the camp to close down at one point and we had to stop serving the inner city youth. Dr. Stephan Hittman from the 911 fund, myself and my wife Beverly Mckinney, were able to open up Camp Wabenaki again and run the camp in a new location still surrounded by lake Stahahe in Harriman State Park, on the same waterfront as the original Camp Wabenaki just down the road. Sadly Mr. Stephan Hittman has passed on and so has his father Mr. Ralph Hittman. So my wife and I took on the task of keeping their legacy alive and I became the next President of Camp Wabenaki.

Over the last 4 years my wife and I have been operating Camp Wabenaki. However, we only have a very small budget and no outside funding. My wife and I go out and do presentations for non-profit organizations all over the city and that's how these agencies learn about Camp Wabenaki and they bring up their youth. They help support the camp and that is how we keep the camp open and running by working together.

Camp Wabenaki is in desperate need of water front supplies. Our life jackets/preservers are old, frail, and worn out, we are in dire need of new ones. One of the primary focuses in the camp is the water front that the kids enjoy tremendously. We have been able to sustain the camp so far. Camp Wabenaki is a gifted and blessed place and we are very proud to be a big part of that. The camp is a place for the kids to seek out other options in a safe, fun learning environment without any pressures or judgement and begin to see their purpose of life and broaden their imagination and look among the stars at night where they can become one with nature. Our jobs and our purpose is to set them on the right track and to let them know that anything is possible.

With your help and your donations we can accomplish our purpose and our goals for the youth of today and tomorrow and continue to provide a quality, affordable day camp and overnight trips. We want to continue to provide them with that life changing experience and the confidence to succeeded in life with whatever they choose to do and be able to handle what come their way. We believe every child should have a chance at a good productive life as the grow and never forget their visit to Camp Wabenaki.

Our goal is to raise $5,000.00 for the youth. Here at Camp Wabenaki safety is our top priority, for our kids who enjoy and use the waterfront on lake stahahe at it's best. Ultimately we encourage our participants to canoe, swim and sail on one of the best lakes that you will ever see and to finally let their guard down and be at peace.

Thank You,
Sincerely, Clark Mckinney, Camp Wabenaki President
