Funds for the SEN School in Busua, Ghana

Asomdwee Fie - Peace Home

Hello,

Daisy, Kathryn and myself are currently volunteering in child care and mental health programmes in Busua, Ghana. We visited the Asomdwee Fie, Peace Home this week and were all touched by the amazing work this organisation is doing to support young people with special needs in this area. The school is managed by a wonderful lady called Vera who runs the school with so much passion and care.

As this organisation is non-profit and non-governmental, they are always in need for funds to support their amazing project.

In Ghana, they are working very hard to fight the stigma against individuals with special needs but there is still a long way to go, with many young people not being able to access the education they deserve which is needed to help them develop to their full potential.

Young people from neighbouring villages cannot afford the transport to and from the Peace Home, therefore miss out on an education.

We are hoping to raise funds to further support the running of this school, such as contributing to another van which can pick young people up from these villages as well as everyday necessities such as food for the school kitchen, toys and educational supplies.
