Funds for the Psychiatric Unit in Ghana Hospital
Donation protected
I’m volunteering in Ghana’s Dixcove Hospital to learn more about the impact of mental health in different countries.
The psychiatric department is led by a very determined nurse, Naboth, and it is very underfunded. Many people in Ghana suffer from psychiatric conditions but, because of bus fares, medication prices and the stigma surrounding mental health, they are unable to receive the help they need. Mental health can tear families apart and make life impossible for people who are already living in poverty. I’m asking for any donations so that I can buy a range of medication, provide bus fares, give money so that a mother with a small baby can receive treatment for her schizophrenia, and also help with providing health insurance.
As another incentive, I’m running a half marathon at the beginning of November! I’ve never usually done more than 5k and park runs so this is a big challenge for me! Training in the Ghana heat is very difficult!
Any donations could change a life. Thank you so much!
