Our beloved friend and hygienist, Julie Manthei and her family are experiencing one of the most difficult times of their lives as her husband George Manthei has become ill with congestive heart failure. He was originally diagnosed 5 years ago when he had to have a quadruple bypass, pacemaker and defibrillator placed in his heart. Although these medical treatments gave him more time, we are now fearing the worst. 2 months ago George started to experience pain in his legs and began retaining fluid. He has been in and out of the hospital and last week he was told that his heart is no longer pumping and he and his family need to look into a heart transplant. This week they were given the news they so dreadfully feared, that George is not a candidate for a heart transplant and his future is very uncertain. As George remains in ICU, his family is faithfully by his side. During this difficult time we would like to show our support and love by creating a fundraiser to help Julie and her 2 daughters pay for expenses so they can spend as much time as possible with George. Julie has served the community of St. Petersburg for 35 years, it is our turn to support and love her during this difficult transition.
