Hi everyone,

A few people asked me to start a GoFundMe for Ringo’s medical bills, which I appreciate so much. Please do not feel obligated to contribute, but anything is greatly appreciated. Thankfully we have pet insurance but our bills are now at $20,000+, I’ve uploaded the invoices here as well and will continue to make updates.

On Friday, June 20th, Ringo began showing some signs of difficulty walking. This within hours progressed to no mobility, no feeling and no bladder control from his mid-spine down.

We urgently took him to VEG animal hospital and got xrays done, to which we were then referred to a different animal hospital to see a neurologist as an emergency patient. He stayed overnight while being watched by the staff to prep for an MRI and spinal tap today to figure out what was going on.

Today, June 21st, the MRI showed a herniated disc (which apparently is extremely rare in cats). He had emergency surgery following the MRI. The neurologist noted there was no bruising but there is still a 50/50 chance of regaining mobility. We will get to visit him tomorrow morning to see how he’s doing but for now the surgery went well and he’s resting.

If you’ve ever loved an animal like family, you know how devastating it is to watch them suffer. We’re not giving up on Ringo, and we’re doing everything possible to get him the care he needs to help him get better.
