Amanda was suddenly diagnosed with Interstitial lung disease last year and underwent a double lung transplant surgery in September of 2023. On behalf of Amanda and her family I am putting together this fund raiser to get help with funding for a reliable vehicle for Amanda to be able to drive to Shands to maintain her weekly appointments after being less than a six month double lung transplant survivor. What that means is that she has to follow a strict guideline and routine in order to live. Amanda’s condition is quite the anomaly and Drs are working closely with her to monitor her ongoing issues which is to be expected after such a dramatic and traumatizing surgery and sudden life change. She is a loving fiancé and mother to two beautiful children. As you can imagine watching your mother fight and continue to fight to live is a lot for any family to have to endure. It is vital for Amanda to continue to commute an hour away to Shands hospital in order to maintain proper care and also remain on the donor list for future lung transplants as she could possibly be facing another transplant in five years due to the autoimmune diagnosis (we will pray that won’t be the case!!). Her fiancé currently has a vehicle but it is an older car and has had some recent issues making it unreliable to drive on the interstate for long periods multiple times a week. Amanda is currently living life with a feeding tube and constant timers set on her phone to remember all of her 20+ medications or she could face rejection. That is SO much to bear at 31 years old. Please find it in your hearts to bless this family with a reliable vehicle so Amanda can remain on the transplant list and maintain her weekly appointments. Thank you so much for taking the time to read, if you can also share this with friends and family that would help her with accessing a larger outreach. #amandastrong
