Friends and Animal Lovers,

My sister Krista and her sweet girl Penny need your help. Penny (4 yrs young) is facing serious health concerns and has spent the last few days at the emergency vet clinic racking up substantial medical expenses with more to come. She brought Penny home yesterday while we wait on diagnostic results, but all signs are pointing towards a wet FIP diagnosis.

Krista lost her first fur baby Howie unexpectedly last July, right before losing our mom's aging cat Lucy weeks later in September. We want nothing more than to give Penny a fighting change at recovery and relieve my sister of any financial stress this is causing.

Penny has lost significant weight over the last few months and has been eating less and less. We thought Penny was struggling with the stress of losing Howie and Lucy so suddenly, but it's become clear that she has been struggling with more than a broken heart. After not eating or drinking for a few days, Krista brought her to the emergency vet for a quick check up which turned into a longer stay than anticipated. Penny's care team ran all sorts of tests, hooked her up to fluids and got her eating again after some appetite stimulants. Test results are showing a buildup of fluids and protein around her heart and lungs. They've scraped this fluid and are awaiting diagnostic results confirming if she has FIP. If she does receive a positive diagnosis, Krista found a case study that Penny could be included in. More to come as we receive her results.
