Funds for Olivia
Olivia “Liv” Cooper is a beautiful 19-year-old who has battled a rare form of epilepsy since a young age. She has endured numerous seizures throughout her life. Liv has undergone countless brain surgeries in an attempt to alleviate/help cure this horrible disease. She has experienced new treatments, medication, surgeries with no avail.
Liv’s wonderful treatment team is located in New York City. Liv, and her mother, Brooke, have had to make countless trips to New York for evaluations, therapies, and surgeries. Sadly, after Liv’s most recent brain surgery, she experienced quite a setback. Her cognitive function has declined and has been diagnosed with a significant surgical brain injury. Olivia is dependent for care.
Thankfully, Liv has been accepted into a full-time 5 days/week (for five months) neurological cognitive rehabilitation program (also in New York City). There are only a handful of these programs in the United States. This family has gone through the unimaginable. Brooke will need to be with Olivia throughout this healing process. Brooke has navigated through these obstacles as a single parent. Her career is centered around caring for people. She then goes home to care for Liv. Brooke is one of the most dedicated and selfless mothers I know.
Their medical, travel, and daily-living expenses are growing day by day. Please consider donating any amount to alleviate some of the financial strain this family is facing. Thank you so much.
