On Saturday, June 1, 2019, it was found that my mother (Minerva Herrera Alvarado) has cancer.

Having gone to the emergency room two times prior to this most recent one, the cancer was undetected. During her surgery to remove an obstruction in her large intestine, it was found that she has stage 4 cancer and that the cancer has spread to her intestines, ovaries, liver, and gallbladder. She is currently healing from her surgery in her home and now has an ostomy bag. Pathology tests have been done. Genetic testing will be done in the upcoming days so as to determine the best treatment plan to combat her cancer (radiation, chemotherapy, etc.).  

For those who know my mother personally, know that she is the most mild mannered, calm, patient, understanding, caring, strong, and loving woman. She loves Jehovah God and puts others' needs before her own. Now it is time that we put her needs in the forefront. 

I, as her son Marco, am reaching out to you all to let you know that the funds raised in this GoFundMe page will go to my mother's medical expenses, nutritional supplements, and any other unexpected expenses needed for her and her family to fight this horrible disease. 

Because my mother's cancer was found so late, time is of the essence! Your prayers and support are appreciated and may God bless you all.
