Funds for Lexi

Donation protected
Hi all! Due to several inquiries, I wanted to reassure everyone, that I, Carol Armstrong, am the administrator for this GoFundMe account. These funds that are raised through this website are directly deposited into a checking account in Alexis' and my name ONLY.

If you have continued concerns about the funds, please don't hesitate to call me at [phone redacted].

Let me tell you about Alexis. She is a beautiful, delightful, and sweet 16 year old young lady. She teaches everyone around her about love and compassion just with being in her presence. Alexis loves to be around and interact with many different people. She loves to go places and do things with the people she loves and cares about.

Alexis born with multiple rare disorders. She has been diagnosed with the following: Atoxia with Cerebral Hypomyelination Syndrome (CACH), Leukodystrophy, focal epilepsy with secondary generalization, spastic quadriparetic, cerebral palsy, dysphagia, and dysominia, all of which affect her strength. Alexis is wheelchair bound, blind. and non-verbal.

Alexis is homebound tutored for her school. She is unable to go to school with her peers due to her medical history. Alexis requires 100% care for all needs and has a need for a full time nurse. She is tube fed, needs medication, and  respiratory treatments around the clock. Recently, her grandmother, Carol Armstrong gained guardianship of Alexis. Ms Armstrong is on disability and is in great need financially to be able to provide for her granddaughter.

The problem is they do not have transportation to safely take Alexis to doctor appointments or any other activity. Ms Armstrong needs a wheelchair accessible van that Alexis can safely ride in. During the process of gaining guardianship of Alexis, Ms Armstrong was unable to procure the vehicle used to safely transport Alexis to and from her activities.  Also, they need to do some maintenance on the home. The decks and ramp surrounding their home need to be repaired so that they can safely take Alexis outside in her wheelchair. They also need to remove the carpet in their home due to Alexis' respiratory issues.

Please help us raise money to help cover the costs of home repairs and a down payment for a wheelchair accessible vehicle so that Alexis can access all activities that she and her family need and want so that Alexis can have a happy, fulfilling, and successful life.

Any contributions made will be pivotal to Alexis’ health, independence, and happiness. Please donate and share this GoFundMe account to show your support.
