Funds for Knox- Man's Best Friend
Donation protected
Hello! This is my nephew's dog Knox. He's 1 and 1/2 years old. This photo was taken about a month ago. He belongs to my nephew Bryce. Bryce is 21, living and working on his own (at the age of 21!) near Phoenix. Bryce is new to the area and he and Knox are inseparable. As most dog lovers know, dogs really are man's best friend! And Knox certainly is to Bryce.
Recently Knox started vomiting and became lethargic. After a trip to the vet, they sent him home with some medication and we assumed he'd get better. After a day or two it was apparent this was more than a dog eating something it shouldn't have. I don't think anyone, least of all Bryce, expected him to become so gravely ill so quickly. Before we knew it, he was in the ER getting fluids and an ultrasound. No obstructions were found, and again he was sent home with meds and expected to recover.
Within 12 hours he took a turn for the worse. After numerous tests. they finally realized he had parvovirus- an extremely dangerous virus that can be fatal to dogs. He needed to be hospitalized for another two days- with iv fluids, tube feedings, and almost hourly blood draws. He was basically in the animal ICU- too sick for a regular vet. And this was very, very expensive.
But good news- Knox is eating on his own, getting his young dog attitude back, and Bryce can breathe again knowing he's getting his best friend back. Unfortunately, this came with a $6,000 price tag.
Bryce is a hard worker, and cares for others. He's bought meals for those down on their luck and stayed to share that meal and provide company for some who are overlooked in society.
I feel he deserves to have some of the help, kindness and compassion he's given to the world come back to him. If you would, please consider donating to help him reduce this large debt.
