Hi, my name is Cassandra, and I’m trying to raise funds for my fur baby Joya. Anyone who knows me understands how important my dogs are to me. She was diagnosed back in 4/2023 with Addison's disease; her body doesn’t produce cortisol. At 2 years old, she almost died from a disease I had never even heard of. She was adopted at 2 months old back in June 2021. One of the happiest days of my life! She was a happy puppy, so energetic, just a ball full of love. She was like that until one of the worst days of my life. Out of nowhere, she was acting as though she was an old, sick dog. Lethargic, wasn’t eating or drinking, wasn’t moving, was cold, wasn’t going to the bathroom. Literally, a few days prior, she was acting like her usual self. She was fine, so it was a shock to learn that she had a disease that, unfortunately, she will have to live with for the rest of her life. She was knocking on death's door, but my girl is a fighter. Unfortunately, she has to be on medication FOREVER. Needless to say, the medical bills from even back in 2023 have gotten a bit worse. Joya doesn’t have insurance, and because she was diagnosed with a disease, it is a pre-existing condition at this point. She needs blood work and a well visit once a year in order to continue getting her medications. Her steroid shot (Percorten-V) that must be given monthly is costly; it lasts a few months as long as her weight doesn’t go up. She must take prednisone pills every day that I have to give her. She CANNOT miss a day! I’m very grateful she survived and is still here. If you looked at her, you wouldn’t even know. However, her treatment has financially put me in a hole, and I’m still trying to pay it off. With the amount of interest, it’s just getting a little out of control. As everyone is already aware, prices for everything have been going up, and it’s been financially tough on me. I’ve tried other resources too, and nothing ever worked. So, this is me asking from the bottom of my heart so I could pay off some, if not most, of the debt so I can hopefully get back on track and stop paying out-of-control credit cards. Anything that can be donated is much appreciated and will go towards Joya’s previous credit card charges. Please help. Thank you so much!
