Emergency Funds for Dylan’s Recovery ❤️
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
On October 21st, Dylan went to the hospital with severe stomach pain. Just that afternoon, he had returned from a bachelor party in Mexico, feeling unwell. After numerous tests, scans, and difficult days of uncertainty, doctors finally discovered a perforation in his small intestine, free air in his abdomen, a ruptured bulb, abscesses, and an inflamed appendix. He was diagnosed with a rare congenital condition called Meckel’s Diverticulum, which is life-threatening if untreated.
Dylan underwent emergency open surgery on October 26th, where surgeons had to detach his small and large intestines, repaired his small intestine by cutting part off, removed his appendix, and cleaned his abdominal cavity to prevent further infection then put it all back. He now has 36 staples across his stomach and continues to recover at home, requiring IV treatment twice daily, which I (Megan) am administering with the support of home healthcare. Dylan today, is home and doing much better! Please reach out if you have any questions!
The road to recovery will be long. Dylan has been advised not to work for 6-8 weeks, as any heavy lifting over 15 pounds could lead to complications. I am currently helping with his daily care, as he faces difficulty sitting, standing, unable to drive, and moving around. With both of us out of work, the next few months will be challenging with medical bills, living expenses, and other essential costs.
We are reaching out for support through this GoFundMe to help us cover these expenses until Dylan can return to work. We deeply appreciate any contribution, big or small, and thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness and generosity. Every bit of support means the world to us during this difficult time.
Thank you for reading and for being there for us.
With gratitude,
Megan and Dylan
